Position Summary:
- The OT Network / MES Application Specialist is a hands-on shop floor execution role responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, and improving integrations between manufacturing equipment, Operational Technology (OT) networks, and enterprise systems (ERP/MES).
- This role works directly with production systems, industrial equipment, and plant network infrastructure to ensure reliable data flow between machines, sensors, control systems, and enterprise platforms. The position also supports MES solution design, business requirements gathering, and end-user training to drive adoption and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
- While system configuration is primarily owned by engineering, this role plays a key part in real-time troubleshooting, integration reliability, MES solution support, and shop floor execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot connectivity and data flow issues between machines, sensors, and ERP / MES systems
- Diagnose and resolve machine communication, device detection, OT network, and HMI / sensor data issues
- Partner with plant engineering and IT teams to quickly resolve integration failures
- Support MES solution design, implementation, testing, and rollout activities
- Gather and document shop floor and business requirements for MES enhancements
- Provide MES and application training and support to production and operations teams
- Support OT networks, industrial communication protocols, and device connectivity
- Support integration and data flow across PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, sensors, and machine controllers
- Support ERP and MES data reliability, production data accuracy, and quality data collection processes
- Troubleshoot quality execution plans, inspection capture, and automated quality workflows
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent hands-on manufacturing systems experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial production environment
- Hands-on experience supporting shop floor systems, OT networks, or industrial automation environments
- Experience troubleshooting machine-to-ERP or machine-to-MES integrations
- Experience working with OT networking and industrial control environments
- Experience with SCADA and/or MES platforms (Oracle MES preferred but not required)
- Experience supporting ERP manufacturing, production, or quality data systems
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to or working knowledge of:
- PLC programming concepts
- Python
- SQL
- Oracle MES or similar MES platforms
- Willingness and ability to learn new shop floor and enterprise applications
